Experience the festivities of Ramadan celebrated in the 1980s on this immersive walking tour. Let’s relive the good old days through captivating stories of history, culture and the people who call Kampong Gelam home!
Experience the rich traditions of Kampong Gelam and the festivities of Ramadan on this 5th edition of Gemilang Kampong Gelam 2.0! Accompanied by intriguing characters who once called the place home, let’s weave through Muscat Street, Bussorah Street, and Kandahar Street, and go on a nostalgic journey from the past.
Discover lesser-known stories of this iconic precinct during its golden era — of early immigrants, the religious and cultural activities centred around Masjid Sultan, and the family businesses that have survived generations.
Of course, no festival is complete without food. Enjoy traditional local snacks such as Kacang Putih and Kuih-Muih. We’ll even give you a $10 food bazaar voucher so that you can partake in the Ramadan festivities together with the locals.
After the walking tour, take part in a Batik Painting on Coasters workshop by @artsbyhanisamaricar. Whether you’re a beginner or an art enthusiast, this workshop is the perfect way to explore this beautiful traditional art form and create your own masterpiece to take home.
More than just a walk-through sightseeing tour, it’s an immersive and authentic cultural experience to reconnect with the essence of Kampong Gelam. *Various characters will join you on the tour to bring the stories of Kampong Gelam alive. Characters portrayed are fictional and not based on real persons.
Tour Itinerary
Your 3-hour experience is split into two immersive parts — a 1.5-hour heritage walking tour followed by a 1.5-hour Batik Painting on Coasters workshop. All sessions conducted at Kampong Gelam.

- You will receive a full refund if we receive your cancellation notice at least 48 hours before your tour starts.
- If we cancel the tour, you will receive either a full refund or an alternative date/time.
There is strictly no refund:
- For cancellations made within 48 hours of the start of the tour
- For tours that were previously rescheduled by you
- If you arrive late and the group has departed
- If you fail to turn up, regardless of the reason
Rain Policy
The tour will continue to be conducted when there is light rain. In the event of a thunderstorm, a reschedule date will be provided.
Minimum 2-Pax Departure Policy
Due to the minimum requirement of 2 pax to proceed with the tour, Let’s Go Tour reserves the right to contact the customer to do a reschedule to another slot or day, should the number of guests for the tour selected be less than 2 pax.
